Zack Snyder Reveals Plans for ‘Justice League’ Sequels

“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is finally out and appears to be a hit with fans and critics. However, it’s probably too little too late for Warner Bros. to continue telling the story that Snyder set up. The director has even said that he’s likely done making DC movies.

That hasn’t stopped him from ending his cut of the Justice League on a cliffhanger. Though we probably won’t get a sequel to the movie, Snyder has given a lot of details into what he was planning to do. One plot point that is foreshadowed in Justice League is Superman eventually turning evil.

“It’s the fall of Earth, when Superman succumbs to [the Anti-Life Equation]. And then sending Flash back in time to change one element so that doesn’t happen,” Snyder told the New York Times.

The reason for Superman’s turn would’ve involved the death of Lois Lane.

“Lex tells Darkseid that the key to Superman’s weaknesses is killing Lois Lane,” Snyder said. “For whatever reason, Batman fails. Darkseid comes back and kills Lois. Batman fails, he hesitates. They were in an argument.”

Essentially, the direct sequel to Justice League would involve the “Knightmares” that Batman deals with in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and JL. Snyder also dropped some insight on what a third movie would look like.

“Twenty years later, on the anniversary of [Batman’s] death, they take young Bruce Kent down to the Batcave and they say, ‘Your Uncle Bruce would’ve been proud if you did this,” Snyder told Vanity Fair. “Anyway… something like that.”

In all honesty, this sounds terrible. I’m personally not a fan of evil Superman storylines. There are so many good stories to tell that involves him being a hero. Why do we need to jump straight to evil Superman? Also, having Superman’s son become Batman sounds so dumb.

I was a fan of the Snyder Cut but it’s probably good that it ended where it did. Seeing a movie surrounding Darkseid would be awesome. Why muddy the water with evil Superman? Regardless, these movies will almost certainly never happen.
