Zack Snyder Not Planning to Make Anymore Films for DC

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise but it appears that “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” cut will be his last hurrah in the DC Cinematic Universe. Snyder was the first director to put his stamp on the DCEU when he released “Man of Steel” back in 2013. He followed that up with “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and then “Justice League.” He also produced many other films for DC. While Snyder clearly has his fans, his influence has not led to the commercial success that Warner Bros. was likely hoping for.

It’s clear that DC has decided to shake things up. James Gunn’s “Suicide Squad” and Matt Reeves’s “The Batman” should have little or nothing to do with any of Snyder’s movies. The director essentially confirmed that he’s done make DC movies.

“They are 100 percent moving away,” he told the New York Times. “They consider the theatrical cut of Justice League as canon.”

Despite the fact that Warner Bros. isn’t planning a sequel to Snyder’s Justin League movie, the movie apparently ends on a cliffhanger.

“I added it because this was going to be the last movie I make for the DCU, and to have this entire cinematic universe without Batman and Joker meeting up just felt weird … The ask was for my version of the movie.”

Perhaps Warner Bros. changes its mind if the Snyder Cut is a huge success but that feels unlikely. They appear eager to move past this part of the studio’s history.
