Fans Go Wild Over Trailer for New Nicolas Cage Movie ‘PIG’

Nobody commits to unique roles like Nicolas Cage. While that’s led to some incredible movies, it’s also led to some of the worst things ever. For every Mandy, there’s a Willy’s Wonderland. Despite once being an A-List star, Cage is almost exclusively found in small indie movies these days.

His newest film will come courtesy of Neon. The first trailer for PIG dropped on Thursday and the film appears to show the more subtle side of Cage’s ability as an actor.

PIG is about a man who lives in the forest with his truffle-hunting pig. Here’s the synopsis courtesy of IMDb: “A truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped.”

Based on the trailer, it looks like we’re in for another iconic Cage performance. Every once in a while, he’ll get into a slump of bad movies. Willy’s Wonderland and Jiu Jitsu were truly terrible movies and there wasn’t enough fun Cage stuff in them to make them interesting. Though PIG looks much more subdued, fans appear really excited for this film.

PIG hits theaters on July 16, 2021, and was directed by Michael Sarnoski.
