HBO in Talks With Actor to Play Sinestro in Green Lantern Series: Report

There’s been talk of a Green Lantern show coming to HBO for some time now. HBO greenlit the project last year and it looks like production is about to start ramping up. The series has already cast Finn Wittrock as Guy Gardner and Jeremy Irvine as Alan Scott. The cast could soon be adding its Sinestro. The Illuminerdi recently reported that Game of Thrones and Outlander star Tobias Menzies is being eyed for the role.

Sinestro is one of DC’s most iconic characters. He’s a Green Lantern who gets corrupted and starts The Sinestro Corps. It remains to be seen how HBO will utilize the character. In the Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie, Sinestro is a good guy and a mentor to Hal Jordan. They teased him turning evil at the end of the film but that movie was a flop so nothing came from it. In the show, it’s hard to imagine he doesn’t at least eventually become one of the main antagonists.
