‘Shazam!’ Director Teases Major DC Cameo for Sequel

There have been some major missteps along the way for the DCEU but Shazam! was one of the few hits. The film was so successful that Warner Bros. quickly greenlit a sequel that is currently in production. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to bring back much of the cast from the first film and David F. Sandberg will be returning to direct.

While there’s a lot of excitement around the sequel, most of the hype is surrounding the eventual Black Adam movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which will be coming out in the summer of 2022. Black Adam is Shazam’s arch-nemesis but there’s been no mention of him being in Fury of the Gods. That was until now.

Sandberg decided to post an update on production for the Shazam! sequel and included a picture that was certainly interesting.

Notably, the image features a yellow lightning bolt on a dark background. That’s exactly what Black Adam’s costume looks like. Considering Black Adam is coming out a year before the ShazamI! sequel, it would be odd if The Rock doesn’t make some sort of cameo – even if it’s just an after-the-credits scene.
