New Netflix Horror Series ‘Midnight Mass’ Gets Chilling Trailer [WATCH]

TV hasn’t always been the best medium for horror to thrive but Mike Flanagan is one of the few to crack code on how to make it work. The Haunting of Hill House creator has laid claim to being the king of Netflix horror after a few successful collaborations with the streaming service. Fresh off of the success of The Haunting of Bly Manor, Flanagan is getting set to release Midnight Mass.

The story is an original one from Flanagan and promises to be one of the most anticipated shows coming this year. Netflix decided to finally drop the first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis of the series, courtesy of Netflix: “The arrival of a charismatic young priest brings glorious miracles, ominous mysteries and renewed religious fervor to a dying town desperate to believe.”

Based on the trailer, this is clearly a Flanagan joint. He’s developed his own aesthetic over the years and that hasn’t changed with Midnight Mass. The most exciting thing about the series is that Flanagan directed all seven episodes. He did the same thing with Hill House and that was one of the best horror shows to come out in a long time. Midnight Mass looks like it will be another hit for the filmmaker. The show will premiere on Netflix on September 24, 2021.
