James Wan Reveals Title for Upcoming ‘Aquaman’ Sequel
The future of the DC cinematic universe is somewhat in limbo right now with the “SnyderVerse” essentially dead in the water. Zack Snyder had his hands in almost every DC movie to this point and getting rid of his influence won’t be easy, especially considering that many of the characters from his Justice League movie are still getting solo films. Aquaman has been one of DC’s biggest hits to date so there was no way the studio would can a sequel.
James Wan, who directed the first film, is set to helm the sequel. Not much is known about the film but Wan has finally given us a title: Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.
The title doesn’t give too much away but it certainly has an Indiana Jones quality to it. The “Lost Kingdom” in the title almost certainly is a reference to Atlantis. Now, that might make things a tad confusing as the kingdom shown in the first film is named Atlantis. In the mythology of the film, there will likely be an older Atlantis that has been lost with time. The film will likely be another adventure movie where Jason Mamoa’s Arthur Curry has to set off on an adventure.
