Zack Snyder Reveals Disappointing Update on Snyderverse Future

After much hesitation, Warner Bros. has to be very surprised with how successful Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been. After the original cut of the film came out, it looked like the DC Cinematic Universe was all but finished. Now that the Snyder Cut is out, there’s been a renewed interest in what fans have pegged the “Snyderverse.” Warner Bros. has already begun to distance the DC movies from Snyder’s but they may not have been the best idea.

However, the studio appears to have already moved on. In an interview with Zavvi, Snyder admitted that the Snyderverse is dead in the water.

“Yes, we have a fully fleshed out universe that we could dive into, but the truth is, you know, Warner Bros., I don’t think they have really any interest in continuing this storyline,” Snyder said. “You know, they are the keepers of the IP, and it’s up to them. So, I am super happy with the way the movie turned out and I love these characters and I’m super proud of them.”

This echoes comments Snyder has made in the past. DC has a lot of movies scheduled over the next several years and they can’t really change course quite yet. At the very least, fans should be grateful they got the Snyder cut.
