‘The Suicide Squad’ Producer Teases Possible Marvel/DC Crossover in Future

The battle between Marvel and DC Comics has gone on for decades. Even before both comic giants had cinematic universes, there was debate regarding who had the better characters. Many will point to Marvel’s box office success as proof that they’re better but DC still has staunch supporters.

While the debate will rage on for years to come, it’s possible that the two sides come together one day. Marvel has already shown a willingness to work with a rival studio as they’ve shown with their collaboration with Sony on Spider-Man. As far-fetched as it might seem, Marvel could come knocking on DC’s door in the future for what could be the biggest crossover in film history. With The Suicide Squad set to come out next month, we’ll get our closest look yet at a possible Marvel/DC crossover as director James Gunn is currently working for both sides. He could be the perfect guy to make it happen in the future. Veteran producer Charles Roven is working on The Suicide Squad right now and he refused to rule out a possible crossover in the future.

“James [Gunn] hasn’t approached me with that,” Roven told Comicbook.com. “But that just goes back to the comment I made earlier, why should we ever say never? What value does never have really?”

Roven has produced every major DC film over the last decade so he has a lot of say in regards to how a crossover could play out. It seems wild to think about now but crazier things have happened.
