Netflix Comes to Surprising Decision Regarding Future of ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’
Ever since Netflix started investing heavily in original content, they’ve had some hits but a lot of duds. It appears that the recently released Jupiter’s Legacy will be in the duds category. The superhero-themed show starring Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, and Leslie Bibb was featured among the streaming services’ most popular shows for a bit but it appears that it didn’t get the viewership they were hoping for.
Mark Millar, whose comic inspired the series, announced on Wednesday that Netflix has decided to cancel the show after just one season.
“I’m really proud of what the team achieved with Jupiter’s Legacy and the amazing work everyone did on that origin season,” Millar wrote in an official statement posted on Twitter. “We’ve made the tough call of letting our incredible cast out of their show commitment as we continue to thoughtfully develop all realms of the Jupiter’s Legacy saga. We’re confident we’ll return to it later and just want to say thanks to you guys for your continued support and to the cast and crew who made this look so great.”

While Jupiter’s Legacy is dead in the water, it sounds like more content will be made from the universe the show takes place in. Millar also annnounced that Netflix will adapt Supercrooks into an anime series. This will be a surprising blow to fans of Jupiter’s Legacy as the first season ended on a cliffhanger. Netflix can always change their mind but it looks like it’s the last we’ll see from the show.
