‘The Mandalorian’ Star Gina Carano Under Fire for Controversial Post
Gina Carano appears to be a magnet for controversy these days. As one of the stars of Disney Plus’ “The Mandalorian,” her notoriety is much larger than it once was. While that would be good news for a lot of actors, it seems to be getting her in hot water.
Fans have been calling on her to get fired from the hit show on a number of occasions. Well, she’s back in the news again as #FireGinaCarano is trending on Twitter due to a recent post on her Instagram story. In the post, she shares a quote about how during the reign of Nazi Germany, Jewish people were persecuted by the citizens of the country and not just the government.
did she just compare the holocaust to being a republican .. #FireGinaCarano pic.twitter.com/an3css7Kdr

This post certainly stirred the pot as people saw it as Carano comparing the plight of Republicans in modern-day America to that of Jewish people during the Holocaust.
One day we get a beautiful story about Pedro Pascal and his goodness and support for inclusivity, and the next we’re reminded that Gina Carano has a lizard brain and should not be trusted around human beings. #FireGinaCarano

that moment when a transphobic, antisemitic, police bootlicker, covid denier and trump supporter plays a character who fought her whole life against oppression and tyranny. lucasfilm should be ashamed. fire her. #FireGinaCarano pic.twitter.com/IfA3ZF6RbW

While there was a slew of criticism thrown her way, not everybody had a problem with her post.
She didn't use the term "republican" or point to any specific political affiliation. What she posted was right and could be applied to anyone, from any political leaning, facing persecution for beliefs. You're all a bunch of idiots, really. #FireGinaCarano https://t.co/85E49ubWdF

Carano is obviously entitled to her opinion but Disney isn’t known for embracing controversy. This is a really difficult situation for them to be in. There’s is only so many times they can see Carano’s name trending on Twitter before they decide to drop the hammer.
