Dave Bautista Reveals Which DC Character He Wants to Play ‘So Bad’
As unlikely as it once seemed, Dave Bautista is one of the fastest-growing stars in Hollywood. The former WWE superstar has fully embraced being an actor and while he’s not the most skilled thespian, he has improved his acting ability with every movie. His next big release will be starring in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead for Netflix. He’s also going to star in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It’s safe to say that he’s got plenty on his plate right now.
However, the man is a true workhorse. Bautista recently dropped a major piece of news about a notable character he’d like to play.
“Oh, it would be Bane all day long,” Bautista said during Justice Con. “I’ve made no secret about this. I want to play Bane so bad I went to Warner Bros., had an appointment with them, had an appointment with DC, walked in the door and said, ‘I want to play Bane.’ I’m not kidding. They were a little like ‘Woah, we’re not even casting Bane.’ I was like ‘I don’t care, I’m playing him.'”
If they’re going with the comics version of Bane, Bautista could make a lot of sense. Tom Hardy’s Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, while awesome, was not anything close to the characters in the comics. Bautista certainly has the size to pull off the role but time will tell if Warner Bros. is ready to feature the iconic villain in a film once again.
