Release Date for Amazon’s ‘Lord of the Ring’ TV Show Revealed
Despite being one of the most popular movie trilogies ever, The Lord of the Rings hasn’t been milked to death by movie studios. Outside of The Hobbit trilogy, there haven’t been any movies or shows related to the franchise. That’s going to change soon as Amazon has invested an absurd amount of money to develop a LotR show.
It’s one of the most exciting projects in development right now but Amazon has been very secretive with it. The show is in production right now and we finally have a release date. Amazon announced the show will premiere on September 2, 2022.

That’s still a long time away. It’s clear that Amazon is taking this project very seriously. They can’t afford for the show to be a dud as they’ve invested $1 billion into the project. Luckily, they have a solid creative team and J. A. Bayona is directing the first episode. The Lord of the Rings may end up being the most ambitious TV show ever. Time will tell if it ends up being worth the hype and investment.
