Dwayne Johnson Reveals Release Date for ‘Black Adam’
It feels like it’s been forever since we found out that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was going to star as Black Adam in a film. For years, we’ve gotten little hints and mentions of a project in the works but nothing concrete. With “Shazam!” being a huge hit for Warner Bros., it seemed logical that they’d make a movie featuring his most famous nemisis. Instead of Black Adam making his debut in a “Shazam!” sequel, the character will be getting his own stand alone film and it now has a release date.
Johnson revealed on social media on Sunday that “Black Adam” will be coming out on July 29, 2022.

Considering Johnson has developed into the world’s biggest movie star, it’s about time he got involved in a superhero property. He likely could’ve dipped his toes into a number of roles but it’s clear that he was loyal to the idea of playing Black Adam. In some comics, Black Adam is a villian while in other, he’s an antihero. Since he’s getting his own movie starring Johnson, it’s almost a certainly that there’ll go the antihero route.
