‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Receives Surprising R-Rating
It looks like the kid gloves are off.
According to the official Film Ratings website, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is ditching the PG-13 rating for an R-Rating. This news is a bit surprising because there wasn’t anything in the theatrical cut that indicated an R-rating was possible. However, Snyder does have a tendency to make movies that are a little more on the mature side. “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” saw an R-rating when the ultimate edition was released. Clearly, Snyder thought that moving past the PG-13 rating was the right call once again.
This move makes sense as the studio doesn’t have to worry about box office returns. With the newest version of Justice League streaming on HBO Max in March, more people will have access to the film. With all that said, hopefully, Snyder didn’t try too hard to be edgy. A Justice League movie doesn’t need to be bloody and mature.
