‘Ghost of Tsushima’ Director’s Cut Pricing & Release Date Revealed
Ghost of Tsushima was one of the last generation’s great games. It was a huge hit for Sony critically and commericially. Luckily for fans of the game, we haven’t seen the last of the franchise. While there’s a movie and more games planned, it doesn’t look like Sucker Punch Productions is done with the first entry quite yet.
With the game coming out shortly before the PS5 launched, there’s been a lot of speculation on whether or not it was going to get an upgrade. Well, we have our answer now. Sony announced on Thursday that not only will the game be getting a PS5 upgrade, it will also be getting a full-fledged director’s cut. Check out the trailer below:
The director’s cut will feature upgraded 4K graphics on the PS5, as well as 60FPS capabilities. They also improved the lip-syncing for those who choose to play in Japanese. However, the most exciting news is that the director’s cut will also feature a new island called Iki Island, which will have a new story and more.
Unfortunately, all of this will come at a cost for people who already own Ghost of Tsushima. Here’s a breakdown, via IGN:
- PS4 players will be able to pre-order an upgrade to the Director’s Cut for $19.99.
- PS4 players who own the Director’s Cut can upgrade to the PS5 version of the Director’s Cut for $9.99.
- Anyone with the original PS4 copy of Ghost of Tsushima looking to upgrade to the Director’s Cut on PS5 will have to pay $29.99.
- For anyone buying Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut for the first time, it will be $70 on PS5 or $60 on PS4.
The director’s cut will be available on both PS4 and PS5 starting August 20.
