Henry Cavill Could Still Return in Superman Role: Report

Many fans were none too happy when a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Warner Bros. is moving forward with a Superman film that will feature a Black actor in the role. Fans were upset because they don’t believe that Henry Cavill, who has appeared in the role three times, hasn’t gotten a fair shot to play the character enough. However, lost in the report was a piece of key information. According to THR, this newest Superman film “appears to be moving onto its own track and won’t be part of the universe, as of now.

If this Superman film exists in a separate universe, then that would leave the door wide open for Cavill is reprise the role. This wouldn’t be the first time that Warner Bros. has made DC films that aren’t necessarily part of the cinematic universe. Robert Pattinson’s Batman is supposed to be a separate thing entirely as it appears Ben Affleck will reprise the role in The Flash. Also, the 2019 film Joker was based on the iconic Batman villain but there’s been no indication that Joaquin Phoenix is about to go toe to toe with the caped crusader. Until more is known, fans should refrain from panicking as Cavill could be donning the red cape again in the near future.
