‘Ghost of Tsushima’ Movie to Be Made by ‘John Wick’ Director

“Ghost of Tsushima” was one of the last great games for the PlayStation 4 and it looks like it’s not the last we’ll see of the property. The game was a huge hit for Sony and has sold over 6.5 million copies. There will almost certainly be sequels and/or spin-offs to the game, but that’s not all we’ll be getting.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions will be adapting the game into a movie. Now, video game movies have a terrible track record but they landed a top director. Chad Stahelski, who has directed all three “John Wick” movies, will be at the helm of the project. He’s one of the best action directors working in the business and it’s hard to even fathom that he won’t be putting together a movie ripe with epic action.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen. We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences,” said Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions, via Deadline.

Fans of “Ghost of Tsushima” should be very excited about this news. Stahelski is an excellent director and his style is perfect to bring the video game to life.
