‘Game of Thrones’ Star Wants to Spend Next Decade in MCU
Though Game of Thrones is over, its impact on pop culture will last for a long time. Many actors from the show have branched out and done notable things. It appears that Marvel has taken a keen interest in actors from the show. Emilia Clarke, who was notable for playing Daenerys Targaryen, is set to star in Marvel’s Secret Invasion, which is an upcoming TV series for Disney Plus.
Clarke has experience committing a big portion of her life to a character and she’s ready to do it again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I mean, I should be so lucky is what I’ll say to that,” Clark told The Hollywood Reporter. “Everyone I know and everyone I’ve spoken to who is a part of the Marvel universe — and actors talk! Everyone has only the highest praise to offer. There’s a reason why actors stay in it. They’re so loved because they’re having loads of fun. So I’m down for that.”
Clarke has had trouble finding her footing outside of Game of Thrones. She starred in high-profile flops Terminator: Genysis and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Marvel has a track record of success so Secret Invasion will likely break her cold streak. Fellow Game of Thrones alum Kit Harrington will also be making his Marvel debut soon in Eternals.
