Riot Games Animated Series ‘Arcane’ Comes to Netflix in Fall
Arcane, the first-ever animated TV series set within the League of Legends universe, is releasing on Netflix sometime in Fall 2021. A new teaser trailer released on May 3rd shows off the first real glimpses we’ve seen of the project since its original announcement back in 2019. The 19-second trailer doesn’t reveal much, however.
The trailer heavily features Jinx, a trigger-happy criminal and an iconic champion amongst League’s roster. The trailer also features her sister Vi, further suggesting that Arcane’s story will focus on their origins in the cities Piltover and Zaun. After years of speculation around Vi and Jinx’s relationship, it’ll be interesting to see what happened to the sisters that caused them to drift apart so drastically.

With a roster of over 150 unique champions, it’s possible that we’ll see a few more characters from Piltover and Zaun make their appearance in Arcane. We aren’t sure what to expect until Arcane releases this fall, but I’m looking forward to hopefully the first of many stories Riot hopes to tell in the League of Legends universe.
