Zack Snyder Sounds off on the Restore the SnyderVerse Movement

For a while, it looked like “Justice League” killed the DC Cinematic Universe. The movie was a box office flop and critically maligned. That movie pretty much killed any notion that Zack Snyder would make more DC movies despite having almost nothing to do with the final cut of the film.

Years later, the Snyder Cut has been released and it’s been a huge hit with fans. Snyder himself has already said that he probably won’t get the opportunity to continue his story but clearly, things can change. There’s been a big movement to restore the “SnyderVerse” with the success of the latest cut of “Justice League.” The director had a chance to address the potential of continuing the story that he set up.

“I can hope [it continues]. It’s not really my [call], it’s not up to me,” Snyder told Pop Culture Weekly with Kyle McMahon.

“I took this opportunity that the fans made real for me and I wanted to honor that commitment that they had to me, and honor my family and the work that all my friends had done to complete this version of the movie. I’m really proud of it,” Snyder said of his four-hour Justice League director’s cut that was only recently completed and released on HBO Max. “Warners and DC Films, by all means, they’re in charge of their own world, and that’s what they do. They’ve famously said that, to them, the theatrical cut of Justice League is canon. That’s what they kind of jump off of, and my little micro-universe is its own thing, and I’m pretty happy with that. I’ll let the fans decide how they want to go forward (laughs).”

In all likelihood, this is the last we’ve seen of the SnyderVerse. Snyder has already revealed what he was going to do in the sequels and Warner Bros. seems eager to move onto other things. At least Snyder was able to go out on a high note.
